The stars (and the Spartan football schedule) aligned to push Homecoming deeper into the fall this year — November 15-17. Expect peak autumn on campus and plenty of programs and activities leading up to the big game against Carnegie Mellon University.

For science and engineering alumni, the action starts Friday afternoon, Nov. 15, with a “Celebrating Women in STEM” panel at Sears think[box]. Organized by the Case Alumni Association and Case School of Engineering, the program will feature influential women in high technology.

Also Friday afternoon, open houses beckon alumni back to the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the Bingham Building and to the Great Lakes Energy Institute, which will host a gathering in the White Building.

At 5 p.m., all are invited to the Case School of Engineering Dean’s Reception in the lobby of Nord Hall. Dean Ragu Balakrishnan will host an hour of refreshment and fellowship. Then, at 6 p.m., the main event unfolds at nearby Strosacker Auditorium.

The 139th Annual All-Classes Awards Program of the Case Alumni Association will honor seven distinguished alumni, including Gold Medal winner Ken Lutchen, MS ’80, PhD ’83, former Dean of the College of Engineering at Boston University. CWRU President Eric W. Kaler will deliver remarks.

Saturday starts with the popular Coffee and Chat with the Dean in Tomlinson Hall, followed by the CIT/CSE All-Classes Luncheon. Then it’s off to DiSanto Field for the Homecoming game against archrival Carnegie Mellon in the 38th Annual Academic Bowl.
